It has truly been a while! Thank you all for so patiently waiting these past few months. I have an update that will comfort Luciafilms fans as well–they will be back soon! Lucia suffered a serious spinal injury around the time we both went silent, and I have been helping out with recovery (To my customs clients, that’s the family member I was referring to, as we are just as good as). But recover she has! Life will be a little different now, but please look forward to both of our studios recommencing our flow. And keep an eye out for Nightmare 2, Lucia is piecing it together one dreadful dream at a time~

I thought this was really good! I like the plot and it’s unique. Plus, the acting is quite good. Alicia Moon in particular stands out for her dialogue and facial expressions. She can communicate so much with her eyes. The editing is snappy and none of the scenes drag. So, overall, I highly recommend it. A big thank you to Snidely for a great custom and Lucy for a fantastic production!

    Heres my review

I was really nervous about watching this because of the pressure that I put on this film. it’s created by one of the best customers out there, someone who writes incredible content and who is the one that I’ve got the most clips from. I heard about this film many many months ago waiting patiently for it to come out. I certainly hyped this film up to a degree that probably wasn’t healthy…

LuciaFilms/WestenraFilms, are the best companies in the business… what they do in terms of choreography, challenging boundaries and creating worlds that are unique and pushed every type of content is incredible.

But certainly in recent times in the last 18 months has been quite quiet from my standpoint, just haven’t been that excited about the content that’s come out but also there’s been some technical problems in quite a few films, editing that’s been slightly off and maybe rushed that has fallen below the standards i maybe have put the companies on to how incedible they are.

This is simply one of the Best Productions EVER in the history of SHIP!

I believe that it is flawless (probably with two other films S.I.F.T and imperiled.

First of all let’s talk about Alicia! there have been a lot of GOAT level Talent that has left the industry in the last 18 months from a number of producers, Alicia is probably the last one left (along with Lucy) is extraordinary the level she gets to and she shows just how truly incredible she is in this production. I truly loved every single time she’s on screen and I cherish every film she’s in for the foreseeable future… as she might decide to leave the industry and we will miss someone who truly makes THE difference

let’s talk about the direction and what Lucy achieved, a truly spectacular production in every single way the direction and some of the short choices were incredible. I love when producers really challenge themselves and do these one shot takes. it’s like watching the hallway scene in daredevil or watching episode 4 of true detective. Lucia does that so well in the number of her Productions with a lot of 1 – 2 minute fight sequences that have no cuts. this has two sequences with no cuts and one takes scenarios… The BJ scene and most of the end sequence.

I know the customer talked about the fact that it was less funny than his usual content but I felt like the humour was there for more than half of the movie.
but when it does shift into more serious content towards the end of the film it is remarkable what has been achieved, that last r*pe sequence was staggering something we’ve never ever seen before on SHIP, Alicia did an incredible emotional and haunting experience that truly leaves a mark on you after you watch it

honestly if you’re going to pick up any movie this year this is the one to pick up!

    well done to everyone involved

I enjoyed this. Fun premise. The obvious thing to do is always “bad guy beats heroine. Has way with heroine.” I always think it’s fun when people explore different reasons as to why the heroine is able to be beaten (in this case, sidekick betrayal). Also fun, exploring the consequences. So the outcome is more impactful than just “was made to have sex.” Comic book supervillains are always doing such needlessly dramatic and elaborate schemes. I think it’s fun when people play to sense of melodrama or the villain’s need to do everything with a bit of extra flair and excessive cruelty. Fun stuff!

BTW – You said you were partially inspired by Almighty Girl. Almighty Girl was partially inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Therefore, logically, this movie is basically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those are the rules.

Ah yes, you mentioned the Turtles connection in an earlier post! IIRC it was about having someone discuss the hero(ine) while they were being defeated. Though when I watched it I connected most with the guy struggling with his feelings and how there was something dark deep down inside of him.

As for the villains, they’re very much an outward manifestation of the sidekick’s self-loathing and insecurities… basically his nightmare made flesh. He’s pathetic and he knows it, and he rightly fears how people will react to the truth about him.

  4. I have been informed that, specifically on Mac, there is a Quicktime app issue where the middle section is played slowed down for some reason. If this should happen to you, it is not a file issue, but an issue with Quicktime itself. Thank you to Snidely for informing me!

If any Mac users encounter this, either play in preview mode or play with VLC (free video app and great for Mac users who need to watch mac unfriendly formats)

I’m sorry to hear about Lucia’s injury, but glad they have recovered. It sounds like it was a very difficult time.

Side note: It seems that a lot of people are much more eager to complain about not enough movies being released, or not geeting updates on unreleased stuff ot whatever than to comment when there are releases. Weird.

Snidely Goes Dark! This is my custom but, confession time, it came in on a day that’s been so busy for me I haven’t actually watched the entire thing. However, I was able to sneak a peek at the major beats, so at this point I’d say I have seen all the high-leverage moments.

Lucy and Alicia really truly outdid themselves. I wanted to try something darker, more emotional, and with a serious underpinning, and this incredible director and star combo blew me away. Alicia is just shockingly, hauntingly, heartbreakingly great in this. Lucy translated my script to screen with incredible care and, yes, sensitivity, balancing my naughty desires with the emotional heft that the material demanded. Just first-rate all around.

If you’re wondering about my usual emphasis on humor, I struggled for a while to figure out how to balance that with more serious stuff and I think I finally cracked it with this one. It starts out that way then takes a somewhat gradual but inexorable darker turn until what I hope you agree is a shattering ending.

For those of you wondering what type of ending it is… SPOILERS AHEAD:

The heroine survives, but she’s emotionally broken. She winds up reunited with her sidekick (now her peer-level partner) but it’s clear that he’s destroyed her spirit and her will.

Oh, also, while the inspo came from a few places (including, funny enough, “Mad Men”) I also want to give a shout out to “Almighty Girl” from TBFE, which shares some DNA with this one. Erm. So to speak.

It looks a good movie. How long is the scene that’s in the trailer and she movedls jer jead to the side as she’s being fucked, looking like she’s just given up and accepted what’s happening?

      • Snidely Snidely says:

You are a man of taste. I like a bit of pathos in my peril. That scene goes through a few different phases with different angles but it’s like the last 5 minutes of the movie all-told, with the sex scene taking up about 3 minutes.

While I gave Lucy free rein to shoot most of the movie how she wanted, that was the one scene I was very fussy about ahead of time, and like with everything else, she absolutely delivered, as did Alicia.

Is her head to the side whilst she’s being fucked? Or was that just when he’d finished with her? It looks so hot if she’s gof ger head to the side as he’s fucking her like that
