TBFE Customs, Updates, And Distortion X

Hey Everyone!

Well, it’s been over 10 years since TBFE began solely producing custom films for SHIP and we appreciate all the support both past and present. It’s been an adventure to say the least.

I don’t post updates that frequently and there’s a lot going on so bear with me!

Customs – We’ve got a few openings left in our summer filming schedule and are actively accepting custom orders. For a very limited, I’ll be discounting all local talent on full day shoots and will do so until we book out the rest of the summer. Please keep in mind this typically happens very quickly so no pressure lol, but better to get submissions in as fast as possible to take advantage! We’ve been quietly adding new local talent for months now and there’s more than a few options to choose from. I don’t think I’ve ever been explicit about half day requests, but with local talent, that is an option. When flying talent in, it’s extremely difficult to do a half day, but when they’re local, it’s an option. Half day budgets do present considerably less than a full day with the tradeoff simply being the films are shorter. Just food for thought.

Website – We finally incorporated a search feature for those that have been requesting it! I just finished updating the Best Sellers section – Sometimes fun to check how your favorites are ranking in the top 50, and you may find a title in there you may have missed!

New Talent – As already mentioned, we’ve added a bunch of new faces locally. We’ve also been shopping for new male actors as well and have a number of new options to keep things fresh. It’s become difficult these past years to hire industry girls as they’re often not in the business for very long, and flakiness seems to be at an all-time high. I recognize that taking a chance on new talent when dumping thousands into a project seems like a risk, but I would at least ask folks to be open to the possibility of someone new, whether local or not. It’s the only way we get fresh faces and at some point, all of your standard favorites did a first film. Plus, coaching somebody new and getting a performance is literally a part of what you’re paying us do!

The Studio/Locations – I just recently remodeled the studio allowing for different setups and layouts from before. We’ve got updated props and can accommodate different looks to try and set each project apart from what is recognizable or what has been done.

4k Releases – All products from this point forward are being released in both a 4k and 1080p format. I’ll be going back in the library and either rereleasing or at least updating past releases with 4k. I’ll post this as I do it.

Hardcore – This seems to always be a topic of conversation and I don’t know if folks are entirely clear with TBFE’s policy. That’s just it, we’ve never really had one and are always open to shooting hardcore. As most folks realize, shooting explicit hardcore is more expensive, requires testing and a higher rate, and is entirely talent dependent. It’s up to both the females and males whether they’ll perform hardcore sexual acts in these films. That’s the long and short of it. If there isn’t hardcore in a film, it’s because the customer didn’t personally want it, didn’t want to allocate the budget for it, or the talent wasn’t open to it. It’s really that simple. And just because somebody performed hardcore on another project doesn’t automatically mean they’re open to it on this project.

Internal production stuff and communication – Everyone seems to be having a hard go of things lately and I too have been challenged both personally and in business these last few years. It has been to the point where I’ve been back and forth in considering the longevity and viability of the project. I could list off all the reasons why and there are plenty of compelling issues but frankly, I don’t think that really matters to anyone. I think what’s important is what TBFE might do to respond to the challenges and what we can do to stay relevant in a changing scape.

  1. First I want to reaffirm my commitment to continuing to create projects for as long as folks are willing to do business with us! I’ve considered what it would look like to terminate production at TBFE but now is not that time. I will continue to reinvent the process until there’s nothing left to reinvent.
  2. A piece of this is a refocus on customer service. I realize it has often been difficult to get a hold of me as an existing customer for updates and as well for project submissions. I would like to try and put that in the past as I refocus efforts on the business.
  3. Project delays are inevitable in this business but what I will promise going forward is to keep folks updated.
  4. Turn around times can be insane. There are folks that have been waiting for films over two years and I don’t think that’s acceptable. A piece of this is my own fault for accepting too many projects and getting buried. The simplest solution is to be liberal about a time table up front and to not accept projects if the time table is too far out. Nobody wants to wait that long and the excitement wains with that much time.
  5. To further aid in turn around times, I’ve got various subcontractors to help with the projects, and I have implemented a number of efficiency strategies to lessen the time in post. For those that have worked with me, I have never been willing to sacrifice quality and that has often contributed to these delays. But there are always ways and means to revaluate processes to become more efficient without sacrificing quality. That is what I continue to do and it’s through both experience and advances in technology that things become easier.
  6. I want to push things to a new level. The challenge has always been to try and create the highest quality productions on what would otherwise be considered an extremely small budget in film. Moving forward, I’ll be looking for ways in which to try new things in all aspects of production. Plus, I’ll be looking for projects with fresh ideas, new situations, and a new spin on existing tropes.

Distortion X

So I realize this isn’t SHIP, but Reality Bytes Productions which produces TBFE has launched another project called Distortion X. These are Adult Hardcore Psychological Thrillers and are all customer produced. Taking from the same idea as TBFE, this project is obviously aiming for a different market than SHIP but there’s crossover in all of the genres. Figured it was at least worth posting if anyone’s interested in watching the teaser for the project. Plus you’ll certainly recognize a few faces. There are 5 projects already filmed and waiting for release and Distortion X will be accepting custom submissions very shortly.

I’d also love to see Alexis monroe or Gigi Allen’s in distortion x if possible, they’d be amazing in it. I don’t think coco does hardcore but the penetration done with a dildo would also be great👍

On the subject of the new talent under the customs tab, there’s no way you can pull together a video with the test footage with Piper Mae Peach? That trailer is straight up amazing, I would do a custom with her based off that immediately if I had the money to do so but man, that footage is phenomenal.

I’m disappointed that they made the decision to make these trailers and not make the movies themselves… Cora Moths trailer too is amazing! I so disappointing that they didn’t make them into movies

For those old films, if people already purchased that, they are able to access the 4K edition right?

    • TBFE TBFE says:

Yeah – I won’t charge extra if I add a 4k release to something without making changes to the edit or the original film. It’s a fairly involved process to go back to the original files and do a true 4k export so it’s going to take some time. I’ll be cueing things up in the evenings and letting the systems crunch through the night. I’ll probably update 5 or 10 of em and then do a public post to give folks a heads up. When I do add a 4k copy to any of the films, I will add the information on the film’s page at the website and I’ll send a mass email as well likely after I’ve completed 5. I just don’t want to bludgeon folks with emails or post on the forums for every film I update.

Thanks great. I hope I can see the 4K film for some of my favorite in the next few months.
I’m not a tech guy but are you doing 4K for recent publish? I think it has higher quality but the file size seems to be small

        • TBFE TBFE says:

Yep. To keep within a 2 gig total file size, I divide the 4k copy into multiple parts. You’ll find a minimum 15 Mbps on 4k

I’ve seen most if not all of these regulars in ShiP content, and this reel showcases what wonderful actors they are. Production quality lighting and camera work all in the same package with legitimate drama and hot as fuck hardcore content gives a lot to be enthusiastic about in the upcoming years of your studio.

Hi! I want to ask that what features and genres does distortion x include? Does It include death ends? I mean psychological thrillers sound like death fetish

    0
    • TBFE TBFE says:

Yeah it makes sense that this question would come up seeing as the company Psycho Thrillers is fairly synonymous with that genre, but in this case, I’m not trying to capture Erotic Horror or Death Fetish. Nothing against it. I used to produce that content before SHIP, and have plenty of respect for the genre and producers alike. Also, there’s always crossover in genres and it’s never black and white, so it’s not like there will never be a death scene if it fits a script. I’m just not trying to niche the project that hard. I was thinking of a way to describe DX using existing recognizable names and I came up with this. It’s sort of like if Black Mirror, The Twilight Zone, and maybe Pure Taboo combined to make explicit films. The idea is to allow all concepts up for grabs. Then of course it will be filmed using local/adult talent likely on a time/financial budget and they’re all customer produced. When you spell it out, it sounds almost impossible and I suppose that’s a piece of what seems fun about it. But realistically, filming SHIP at a high level of production value seemed fairly out of reach 20 years ago, and now look what we’re able to create.

I know how many talented folks I’ve worked with and how many ideas customers often have, and this platform seems an interesting one to explore that further. it’ll be a work in progress to market as it will likely be necessary to use a broad marketing strategy rather than keeping it as niche as something like TBFE, but if you reach enough folks, you can always find a few people that recognize or relate to the direction and hopefully a handful will jump on board and support it! That’s the hope anyway

Honestly I like the fact that it’s rough with none of the death scenes, I’ve always found that genre a little weird but each to their own. There already is a market out there for that with Pkf and pst but none for without so I think refraining from it unless requested by a paying customer is the smartest move. Hats off to you for that

It is good to know you are open to do hardcore. But I must ask, why haven’t you yourselves done any hardcore movies?

    • TBFE TBFE says:

It just comes down to budget, customer preference, and whether or not talent signs off. We filmed “immunity” which contained hardcore, but I think you might be surprised how seldom it’s a make or break issue for folks. In almost 200 some releases, all customer produced, it’s only requested here and there, and in those times, the talent wasn’t comfortable or the price was too high. Actual hardcore vs simulated is only one aspect of SHIP in and amongst an almost innumerable amount of other aspects. Plus, a large portion of the talent that has been most requested or that we’ve frequently worked with over the years, that are actually able to convincingly act in a peril film, have simply not been adult film actresses first. We’ve certainly been lucky to find a few adult actresses that are just plain great actresses, but they’re definitely the exception as opposed to the rule. We have a number of actresses listed currently that do hardcore, and in those cases, the customers haven’t requested it or the budget has been out of reach. It’s a much more layered issue than it appears.

    Couple of things.

With New Talent… I’m excited about the new Talent that is been up on the site since the start of 2024. but obviously getting excited about them is very much dependent on whether customers are going to get into them and use them. I know you talked about having a discount for the summer… but maybe have a discount down the line for using new Talent, certainly takes the pressure off a little bit for customers having to pay a huge price for the risk, also helps ease in new Talent and get them used to making and actor in these types of films

With Distortion X, very excited by this… obviously these five films were filmed a good few years ago now (Probably 2021) but I do think the overall feel is very much tapped into SHIP, produced by the same companies having the same actors and actresses, the tone is very much towards that feeling as well. hopefully you can promote them on here and we can discuss and get intrigue going.

Also with the 4k/1080p situation… I’m glad you’re going to release both versions for the updates going forward. I have actually stopped buying TBFE recently because of the shift to 4k and not release 1080p content. Last one i bought was uncontrolled, where I didn’t realise it was 4K to begin with… i can’t play it on my laptop due to 4K. when you release the 1080p verison of that scene, is it possible to get a download link for it through SHG so I can re-download my purchase in that resolution.
