    Hey gang,

I know AI stuff is very divisive. And in a lot of ways I do believe this new world that is upon us is due for discussion but I just want to remind all of you that there are various ways to have these conversations and attacking one another (customer to customer) isn’t an effective way to do it.

At the end of the day – your vote is your checkbook.

I try not to over moderate these kinds of things but there have been a couple comments that have gotten flagged for just being direct insults to one another. So, while I want to encourage conversation I would also like to ask all of you to be mindful that your enemy isn’t each other.

I’m sorry but the “if you don’t like it, just ignore it” argument is really evasive of the issue and weak (sorry I will try my best not to go over board)

that type of attitude of “if its not impacting you, why do you care?” has lead to a lot of issues – i’ll spare the specificities for the sake of moderation. But as it pertains to AI, its nearly inarguable that AI will be a massive net negative, and this is just one more example.

simply voting with our checkbook isn’t enough. this is so destructive and we should outright reject this.

i’ve been critical of Rye for well over a decade – the original master of SHIP, who clearly lost his way a long time ago (again, i’ll spare specific comments due to moderation). But it’s really no surprise here that he of all people is leading this charge.

AI, in creative spaces especially, is a disgrace.

“simply voting with our checkbook isn’t enough. this is so destructive and we should outright reject this.”

Whom is the ‘we’? And what solution is there if not buying isn’t enough to satisfy you?

Every SHIP community is being flooded with user generated AI, so as of now, it appears the majority of the SHIP audience seems quite comfortable with it.

My original argument stands though, name calling each other isn’t going to resolve anything. And historically speaking, if something doesn’t sell, the manufacturer stops making it.

          • Depo Man says:

            “We” = everyone

“Solution” = unapologetically rebuke it for the slop that is, rather than meekly saying things like “if you don’t like it, don’t buy it!”

And I can assure you, if I screamed from the rooftops how much I don’t like AI, it’s not going to make any difference. But if it matters to anyone, I have 0 intention of making AI films. 90 percent of the fun for me is seeing a real woman in a costume

I see people hating on the AI, who don’t understand just how badly piracy has destroyed this genre/industry. Hire real actors to produce porn people won’t even pay for, they’ll just pirate instead? Good luck.

    • TheGerman says:

To be clear, i pay for what i watch and it’s sad, that many others don’t. But let’s face the facts:
The AI content is more expensive and doesn’t even deliver nudity. Rye offers one 7 Minute Video for 25 Bucks! Sorry, but that’s rediculus!
What’s is in it for paying customers like me? Why should i spend more to receive less?
No nudity, no real Action, just PG13 Comic Stuff.
Especially those image sets are really upsetting me, because i already created hundrets AI Pictures by my own without bigger issues. A great number even including nudity (by tricking the AI it’s possible).
So yes, i hate those AI contents because it feels like a total rip off for buying customers like me, who support this genre with their money.

I’m really not for all the AI slop, if you want to support Porn, support the creators who hire real people, actors and actresses, all of whom likely have ends of their own to meet… AI slop just cuts corners for creators to just pocket the entire income themselves as there’s no outgoings, except maybe a cheap subscription to some AI video generator.

This will always do more harm than good, and seeing so many ignorant people supporting AI is genuinely worrying.

    • bbsucks says:

Not all AI content is “AI slop.” That term is already getting overused by people who think if we try hard enough, we can lump it all together and make it all go away. Just like computers, digital media, streaming television, and any number of technological changes of the past, it’s not going away. Fighting the existence of it is a waste of time, even if there are a billion good legitimate reasons to do so. It’s going to be here. Time is better spent learning how to navigate it and shape it the way we want it, and make sure it’s not used in a harmful manner. That takes more nuance than “all AI = slop and is bad.”

That said, you’re right about one thing. If we want to see creators who hire real people, actors, and actresses thrive, regardless of what’s happening in the world of AI, it is more important than ever to support them. We have been failing to support them for much longer than AI has been getting made and we’ve been seeing the decline as a result. Our creators that everyone is really quick to criticize for absolutely anything are not making enough money on these things for us to assume that they’ll be doing it forever (based on many of them having said as much).

If we want it to stick around, thrive, and grow, we need to support that more than we need to fight AI.

Well said. I personally don’t see the appeal of these AI SHIP “movies” myself. Not yet anyway. But I’m not part of the “all AI is slop” pitchfork and torches crowd either. I’m not super thrilled with a lot of it personally, but I recognize that it’s not going anywhere. I agree that: “Time is better spent learning how to navigate it and shape it the way we want it, and make sure it’s not used in a harmful manner. ” Than just saying “all AI is slop” as if that’s going to change anything.

I’ve pretty much decided that out of principle I’ll no longer be supporting those producers that have completely abandoned their customer base for the past several months and refuse to communicate with us. Between the onslaught of AI slop, rereleases of old movies, and complete silence from most producers, it’s been extremely disheartening to see such disregard for the dozens of ignored comments from the fans. Life happens, people get busy, but I personally feel we’re deliberately being ignored and shoveled slop to try to keep us at bay and I think that’s really sad. I just miss the days when we had open communication with each other.

      12
      • bbsucks says:

I mean… you do you. I don’t think that’s going to make anything better and result in the change you want to see. And some of your feelings are based on assumptions that I don’t know we have any reason to believe are true.

Out of curiosity, when did we ever have open communication with each other? I feel like producers used to communicate more because more content was coming out. That’s slowed down for sure as they all struggle to make ends meet in the changing economy and industry and in some cases that we know about, struggle with personal issues.

Individual people makes these movies for us. Not huge companies. I don’t think they owe us explanations about anything happening in their personal lives that take them away from this stuff if they don’t want to share it with us.

For me, personally, I’m going to continue to treat these movies like fairly straightforward transactions. When one is available to purchase, if it looks like something that I would like to see, I will purchase it. I’m purchasing the content of the movie, not a window into the life of the people who made it. And if someone goes dark and there are no movies…. well, then, there’s not really anything to purchase. So I won’t.

I feel the exact opposite. I feel like there has been plenty of communication from producers explaining that the industry is shrinking, money is tight, a shrinking base of actresses, severe health issues in some cases, and other general personal reasons that have been either delaying films or making it harder and harder in general to keep producing them.

I don’t think constantly attacking them for “lack of communication” is going to change the very real financial issues plaguing the industry. I think if I were dealing with some of the issues that have in fact been communicated by some of the producers, only to be met with a constant onslaught of angry customers who want their film NOW (only to then be met with more complaints by those very same fans that there wasn’t any debooting or whatever when I am finally able to complete a film) I would probably just say f*@$ this and start doing something else.

They don’t have to share whatever personal issues they are dealing with behind the scenes (even though some of them in fact have done so). I think we are all adults here (I think…) and can conclude that the general state of the economy and everything else affects this industry like it affects everything else. They don’t owe us anything. They don’t have to make these films.

The complete silence you are hearing is the sound of producers getting a real job and leaving the genre. Bankrupt producers are under no obligation to post a farewell message thanking the community for their non-existent financial support. Do you want monthly “still bankrupt” updates?

Multiple producers from Lucia to TBFE to Lee Carl and Damian have said their productions are effectively bankrupt and they have no money to make future films. Rye has left the industry years ago. Who else are you thinking of? Who are you expecting to communicate? The ones I mentioned have communicated their status. You just choose not to listen.

        • SHL SHL says:

To clarify, I am not bankrupt. And I have a bunch of productions already shot that will be coming out. But the downtrending sales definitely slow things down.

How long do you plan to delay? There should be some new content by now.Could you tell us what was shot and what will be released? We know it’s hard for you to give a specific date, but at least let us know something. Even some previews would be great.

First, if you have questions for me, leave them on my post so I don’t advertise on someone else’s film release.

Second, delay what? I work day and night on SHIP content. If something was ready, it would be out. I am not sitting on completed films. Financially, it would make no sense to purposely not release completed content, especially during a month where barely anything was released.

    • bbsucks says:

Seems stupid to answer this question seriously, but it is likely a limitation of the terms of service for the various AI tools used to put this video together. I don’t know exactly how they do it, but I’m fairly certain several different tools are utilized. A lot of the ones that are out there don’t want their stuff used for adult content and can boot you from being able to use the tool if you do. I’ve found that a lot of the higher quality models usually have rules like that in place.

  9. bbsucks says:

This one is fun. I think it shows a lot of the strengths and weaknesses of AI videos.

    Strengths:
    – Able to switch sets and include a lot of cast members. Showing a bunch of people reacting to Supergirl’s defeat while watching it on TV in different settings is a fun little touch. Super impractical without AI. One of those things where you COULD do it, but the cost and coordination would outweigh the benefit by a mile.
    – Big monster villain. We’ve seen some big heavily make-upped villains over the years. The biggest is probably the alien from that one Lucia movie. But this is a much bigger and more monster-y villain. Not only is it possible in AI, I would guess it’s probably easier to do a monster than another human (that is a guess).
    – Environmental destruction. Throwing the heroine through walls, making craters in the ground, smashing the place up. Obviously that’s super expensive IRL.
    – Dangerous stunts. We’ve seen some pretty impressive choreography from actresses over the years, but in AI videos, there’s no need to even consider the physical safety of the actors, so the sky is the limit there. We can do some only-in-animation level brutal beatdowns in a real-ish setting.

    Weaknesses:
    – Face consistency. AI being able to handle this is probably a few years away. It does seem like a different actress is playing Supergirl in every scene.
    – Lack of complete control. You can tell the AI goes rogue from time to time.
    – Visual jank. Someone else mentioned that weird little things will happen like the Supergirl logo showing up on her back. I think Supergirl cumming looked really weird. It was an unnatural amount of liquid.
    – Awkward movement. Some of the movements seem unnatural and awkward and look really silly/lose the impact they were intended to have.
    – Acting performance. It’s inconsistent. Some of the stuff seems fine. Some of it doesn’t.
    – We haven’t seen anything super graphically sexual yet. Not sure if that’s just due to the content people have ordered or if that’s going to be a limitation.

It’s early days, though. This is the type of thing that will get better. I know some people get super heated about using AI to do things that’ll replace other people. And by all means, I’d encourage everyone to spend money according to their own values and opinions on this stuff. Support the stuff you want to see more of. Pass on the stuff you don’t.

My opinion on this: It’s a different thing. I listen to a lot of digital music. Music going digital unlocks some things that a physical music collection didn’t offer. But I also have a very large vinyl collection that I get a lot more enjoyment out of than digital music. In a similar way, I’m sure I’ll always like videos with human actresses and human acting performances better than AI videos. But I’ve got room for both. And I’m curious to watch the AI videos evolve.

I’m not a fan of AI. I bought this to help LeeCarl a little. But I’m very pleasantly surprised. This movie is primarily focused on peril and beating. You haven’t seen that lately. There are scenes here that I haven’t seen in years. Like two villains in front of a PC monitor kissing while Supergirl gets her ass kicked in the background. People laugh while you can just hear Supergirl moaning as she gets the beating. It stretches my imagination to the max. Long story short, I enjoyed it very much.

If this was $10, worth it – not at $40.

In terms of peril, there are elements – but the adult elements in particular are lacking (to be expected with AI models not build for it).

Shows promise for the future of AI filmmaking – good progress, but just not there yet.

It’s hard to belive that it takes more to write some good prompts than to work with real Persons and settings. But you are the producer and i’ll have to belive you about this.
But for sure i and many others wont buy such expensive PG13 AI stuff, as long as
there are other producers, doing real adult Movies for lower prices.
I spend a lot of money for heroine movies, because i can’t do them by myself. But i have already created some good AI Peril stuff and it’s already pretty easy if you use the right tools. So this feels like the wrong direction to me. But this is only my opinon. If there is a market out there, good luck with that. But i hope we’ll see soon again some real stuff from you.

Really liked this one. Very obviously ai with supergirl slightly changing looks throughout, weird costume changes (s symbol on her back sometimes) and other AI things but this was a great film.

Story is on point, action is cool (of janky sometimes – mix of fantastic vs bad shots) and supergirl is hot.

What is surprising for this is the voice work and dialogue which is really great and the “editing”! You can tell RYE was actually passionate and excited for this one as the shot selection (or generation as its AI) was carefully and meticulously done with overhead shots, close ups, customer always ect all done in a synergistic manner to make it really cinomatic.

Know there is a view that AI is cheap, easy and bad for creators and while I can’t say anything for thr last part but know after playing around myself to oull this together would not be that cheap or easy at all.

    Defs worth the purchase.
