Hello hench folk,

I am in the process of going through my war chest of items and have decided to remake my Supergirl leotards. Which means some of the ones I had made previously are officially retired. Rather than leave these items rotting in a box, I thought it might be a cool collectible for some of you, either to just have or maybe to use in your personal life.

Some information for those it concerns – these leotards were constructed over 4 years ago. They are by no means perfectly made. In my personal opinion the shoulders were a bit short which leads to the costume easily slipping down the shoulders (look at film stills for reference). I was working on a new technique for the logos so some of the stitch work when inspected up close isn’t perfect. They need to be hand wash cold – as the logo probably wouldn’t survive your dryer, as well as the shiny fabric would wear easily from being washed in a washer. They are a woman’s small in size but considering the costume is stretchy spandex could arguably fit someone slightly bigger.

If you decide to purchase one of these leotards – you will need to provide me your name and home address for shipping. I would prefer international customers not buy these costumes, as shipping probably would be really expensive. But, if you can’t help yourself, then you will have to reach out to arrange additional cost depending on where the costume is being sent too.

Each costume costs $200 USD (Plus an additional $10 dollars to handle shipping).

Even if you have no interest in these costumes, let me know if this is something I should do again in the future if you like the idea of buying relic pieces from my filmmaking that I have retired.

Without further ado,

Costume A and Costume B

The style of costume A and B match the costume worn in LoFi Tape #02 by Sage Pillar. If I am not mistaken Costume B is the costume she wore in the Tape #02. Do note the shoulder issue I described above in the photo of Sage (Who knows, maybe for some of you thats a plus and not a negative as it makes it easier to pull out the breast).

Costume B (Purchase Here)

Costume C and Costume D

The style of costume C and D match the costume worn in LoFi Vertical #01 by Claire Irons. Do note the shoulder issue I described above in the photos of Claire, as it sits close to the edge of her shoulder.

I know you’ve mentioned before that you make your own costumes, but I’m really curious about how that whole process works. Maybe in a future bts post you could go more in-depth on your costume creations?

I don’t know it’s really that interesting. You pick out a fabric, lay it on a table, iron it, trace shapes, cut out the tracings, line them up and sew them together. You could always search on Youtube ‘sewing a costume’ and see a step by step tutorial thats pretty similar to my personal experience. It’s just time intensive, space consuming and requires practicing a variation of skillsets over and over until you get good at it.

I enjoy the process when it works. Took me a long time to get decent at it.

yep, its all about patterns. Just measure the actress at the right spots and cut a pattern and sew it together. I learned most of my sewing outfits in home ec class back in grade school. Made myself a parachute pants because MC Hammer was big at the time. For cooler stuff, they sell patterns at walmart that have all the patterns traced out for you.

Hey SHL, does Costume B have any residual “juices” on them since they’re worn?

Also, are the Ultragirl outfits worn by Ashley and Rachel for sale too? Thanks!

I’ll double check but I’m pretty sure it was cleaned cause I didn’t see anything (been long enough I don’t remember cleaning it but it appears that I did)

Both Rachel’s and Ashley’s ultragirl leotards were their own. I didn’t have to provide the costumes for those shoots

Definitely think this is a good idea for the future. Especially if the costumes aren’t washed after filming. Would love to own a batgirl costume worn by Ashley lol

    • SHL SHL says:

The Batgirl suits usually end up torn into shreds and may also have male fluid, so I don’t know it would be appealing to you or not

If the costume isn’t ripped in half (batgirl specific) then I probably wouldn’t sell it, I would just use it in a film to rip it in half

Yes. Do you find that disappointing?

I make costumes to make films, not to sell costumes. If I was making costumes to sell for profit, they would be very expensive.

These leotards being $200 is relatively cheap – cause I made them for my films, I didn’t make them with the intention of selling them for profit.

Are there any differences between the sizing of a&b to the c&d costumes?
