SHL REDEPLOYMENT POLICY

SHL NEW POLICY

Policy for redeploying expired links – You can either pay a fee ($10) to have the download redeployed per lost title, or buy a new film and then get a courtesy redeployment of one previous purchase with your new purchase.

As of now this process is manually done and is not automated. Email me for more assistance if you need to use this new service to recover lost data.

If your purchase was within a 30 day window of asking for new links the fee does not apply.

REASONS WHY

A recent trend in my email inbox is ever increasing request to receive new downloads of old purchases and the amount of titles per request is ever growing. There also seems to be a correlation of ‘repeat offenders’ who keep losing the files and request new downloads for the same files repeatedly. With many of the more demanding request coming from individuals who haven’t purchase anything in the last two years.

It might come as a surprise to some but sending 10 films with 4K downloads cost me money. Server fees and usage are not free, nor is my time. Rather than ignore the request, or have a policy that enforces no options – I have decided to offer this option as a middle ground to allow some form of action that isn’t to severe for the consumer but also can accommodate / respect my time and resources.

It should be noted I did consult multiple customers (on the Villainy Inc Discord) on the parameters on this new policy.

RESPONSIBILITY

I imagine this policy will be seen as fair by some and will rile up some others (whom probably haven’t bought films from me, or ever requested new links for old purchases) but let this be a reminder…

It is your responsibility to backup your data and your purchases. Not mine. Not your mother’s. Not your father’s. You are an adult. You wouldn’t expect Walmart to refund you for something you lost, nor would you think you should be reimbursed for something you threw away.

When you purchase a product from me – the money is for that transaction. You are not paying me for endless customer service to replace things you have lost that you purchased five years ago.

How hard is it to protect the things that you buy? I still have files (SHIP Content) that I purchased from when I was a teenager over two decades ago. If 18 year old me could make two copies of my purchases… so can you.

And if you can’t protect your data, then you should see this new policy as mercy as I am not asking you to pay the full price of the product. And if you continue your patronage of purchasing new films – then you don’t even have to pay at all.

I favour this policy, its more than fair for the time and money asked of you. I’d even say its a little too generous, it kinda seems like a waste of your time considering the gain is quite low, but it doesn’t concern me since I’ve got my backups so I don’t have full perspective.

That costume in the picture would be great for a new heroine.

This is only a good thing, better than not having that option at all.
